Exploring Villebois-Lavalette’s market
In the heart of Villebois-Lavalette’s market, we are surprised to see just how many stalls there are! It’s a sight to behold!
Temptation takes over so we head over to Myriam’s stall, where she talks to us about rillettes as though we’ve known each other for years. Myriam is so lovely that we decide to share one of her terrines on farmhouse bread made by the village’s baker, Jean.
By the way, he’s a dab hand at making cornuelles . We found this triangle-shaped cake with a slight aniseed taste in his bakery.
Right by him, Damien’s goat’s cheeses catch our eye. We had to stop and try them.
What about Hervé’s honey? Have you heard about it?
Oh! The church bell rings for midday and our bellies start to growl.
Thankfully, there’s quite the selection of places for farm to table food. Our meal at Le Lavalette, which was made up of only fresh foods, was made even better by the wonderful ambiance around the marketplace.
It’s the perfect moment to make and share unforgettable memories.
Throughout the week, you can find a market in one of the local villages, where you can meet producers and buy delicacies.
