La ferme de la Thibauderie is located in the Charente, in a green and hilly countryside. The herd of 120 goats flourishes under the supervision of Gilles and Mathieu, two passionate brothers. The cheeses are processed on site. Since the 1970s, the Thibauderie farm has been home to goats that were pampered by our grandparents. The first cheeses made on the farm were called "Le Thibaudien". However, its manufacture had to stop in the 1990s due to major upgrading work. Since we were children, (me) Gilles and Mathieu (my twin brother) have been growing up among the goats on the farm. Over the years, taking over the family farm had become for us an obvious but also a challenge. After years of reflection, the only way to preserve this family heritage is to transform the milk of our goats into cheese and sell them directly to consumers. As you can imagine, the work seems colossal. But thanks to teamwork, a lot of determination, self-construction, 6 years of training and reflection, a cheese dairy was finally created in December 2018. We also have a small apiary with about twenty hives. Located in an exceptional setting of forests, meadows and ponds, our hives produce excellent spring and summer honey. At the Thibauderie farm, we defend a family agriculture on a human scale close to humans and animals." Come and discover us, free visits during our opening hours are free and guided tours on request (by the farmers of the farm with free tasting).
