This sporty loop, intended for the more experienced, offers you the chance to go back in time to the prehistoric period, by discovering the Ménieux cave, also called "Gavechou". Before walking in the footsteps of your ancestors, you will have to get to the starting point of the route, located in Blanzaguet-Saint-Cybard. There you will find a charming village with a castle, which belonged to the Poitevin family, and a 12th century Romanesque church. In the background, behind these two monuments, there is a public park where you can take a walk. The place offers an idyllic setting with a pond, weeping grounds and the castle in the background. Now it's time to get down to business! Head north towards Saint-Cybard and follow the river "le Voultron". Once you arrive at the place, turn right and head towards the commune of Édon. To get there, you will have to go up and down a succession of hills. But it's worth the effort! Édon also has a Romanesque church dating from the 12th century, as well as an old washhouse. On the way back, near the river Nizonne, you can see the Ménieux cave. It was occupied by man from the Mousterian period to the Iron Age. Several fragments of objects, such as arrowheads and pieces of pottery, have been found there. The archaeological excavations also unearthed reindeer teeth, as well as beaver and hyena bones.
