The castle of Villebois-Lavalette is a real citadel overlooking the village of Villebois-Lavalette. Surrounded by a fortress with seven towers, it stands between the Charente and the Périgord. A medieval atmosphere floats by as you approach it. This medieval castle is more than a thousand of years old and has an exceptional architecture. In 1980, this old castle is invaded by ivy and brambles, and it is damaged by time. This is when a dynamic is created to restore the bulding for 18 years. In 2000 M. Norbert FRADIN, a real estate entrepreneur and benefactor from Bordeaux, becomes the new owner of the castle. Passionated by protecting heritage, M. FRADIN started a new restoration on the castle to give its splendor back. Every history lover will love visiting this castle, at any age.
