Gîte le grand cornet du Moulin de la Barde

We welcome guests for self catering holidays in our 2 comfortable gîtes in the south west of France. Spectacular views, walking distance to the village of Saint Séverin and a short drive from the picturesque village of Aubeterre-sur-Dronne with its monolithic church, restaurants, cafés and shops. The region is known for its gentle undulating countryside with fields of sunflowers, picturesque rivers and lakes, its wines and sunny climate. The surrounding area is popular with walkers, cyclists, artists and photographers. There are many places of interest and activities to suit all tastes and ages, including swimming, canoeing, fishing, cycling, golf, woodland zip-wires, horseriding, wine tasting, sites of historic interest and numerous châteaux. Our holiday gîtes are in a former old paper mill, originally built in 1688. They have been renovated to provide modern facilities while at the same time retaining as much as of the character as possible. All the rooms are newly furnished, spacious and comfortable. Each gîte has an upstairs with 2 double bedrooms, 1 twin bedroom and a bathroom (bath with overhead shower). Downstairs is open plan with a living room, kitchen and dining area and with a downstairs toilet. Each gîte has its own private patio and is suitable for families, couples and groups of friends. The facilities include a shared 4m plunge pool and a pétanque pitch. The property is situated south of Angoulême, and is easily accessed from Bordeaux, Bergerac, Limoges or Poitiers airports, or from train stations in Angoulême, Montmoreau or Bordeaux.
