Château de Barbezieux Saint-Hilaire

Cited in the year 1000, the castle was a medieval fortress from the 11th to 12th centuries, between Aquitaine and Angoumois. The de La Rochefoucauld family carried out major works in the 15th century. Today, of this vast castral complex, remains the entrance gate (the Archiac Gate) and the so-called "barns" building. In 2015, rehabilitation work transformed the Château, which now houses a new theater. A multidisciplinary cultural season (theater, dance, humor, object / puppet, music, etc.) is offered there, punctuated by time for discussion with the artists.
