The Maine Giraud was owned by the romantic poet Alfred de Vigny and, by dating some of his poems here, he left his mark indefinitely. This is why, in order to pay homage to him, a permanent museum has been installed in the old dining room of the manor (guided visit). The small cell where he liked to gather and where he wrote including 'The death of the wolf' is visited too. A literary man, Vigny was none the less a passionate winemaker who produced renowned eaux-de-vies. You can then, in the footsteps of the poet, discover the secrets of the manufacture of brandy, this "liqueur of fire", through a guided tour of the cellars and the distillery followed, if you wish, a tasting of our production (Cognac, Pineaux, Vin de Pays, Grape Juice).
