Weekends, long weekends and public holidays Located in Tocane-Saint-Apre, 20 minutes from Périgueux, the Château de Fayolle is the Périgord’s hidden gem! Located in Tocane-Saint-Apre, near Périgueux, Château de Fayolle is a living testimony to the architecture and history of the Périgord Vert region. Built in 1766 on the foundations of an ancient medieval stronghold house, the château was designed by the architect Chauvin, then modified at the end of the 19th century by Léon Drouyn. It comprises two parallel main buildings, finished with four projecting pavilions, and is surrounded by 55 hectares of parkland. The estate houses a period theatre, sumptuous salons, a consecrated chapel and numerous bedrooms, reflecting the art of living of the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries. The de Fayolle family, who owned the estate for over 900 years, left their mark on local history, notably by taking part in the conflicts against the English and obtaining the establishment of the estate as a marquisate in 1724. Since March 2024, the château has been owned by Florence and Grégory Mangeret, who are passionate about heritage and culture. They have undertaken an ambitious restoration and are opening the doors of the château to the public, offering immersive tours, live performances and cultural events, allowing visitors to immerse themselves in the history and splendour of the place.
